Fishing is not unfamiliar to many people, just a bamboo fishing pole and little bait to catch the fish. However squid fishing is another great experience that many people do not want to miss when visiting Halong Bay.

Squid fishing rods made of hard bamboo, do not need to be flexible or bent like fishing rods. The squid fishing hook is rather different, it looks like a shrimp, like an imitation bait. Especially squid fishing does not need bait, high-pressure lights with white lights are enough to attract the squid.
Many visitors find it interesting when watching the hooks move under the water which are like swimming shrimps. An experienced fisherman said not all types of squids like baits, therefore in Halong Bay literally visitors can only catch cuttlefish – a type of squid but smaller with unique internal SHELL and cuttlebone. Also in Halong Bay squid is not big because it is shallow water, squid there is usually as big as folded two or three fingers, or if anyone’s lucky enough, they are able to catch a little larger squid which is as big as a bamboo tube.
